We are under no illusion that things will miraculously change however being able to move about more freely is enough for now. At Bitton we have big plans for the year and although times are unpredictable, let’s put it out there and hope for the best!
Our Plant based Tuesdays have gained such popularity that we will start again in January. Join us on the last Tuesday of every month when our chefs will create a vegan menu and our sommelier will match it with some incredible organic and bio dynamic wines. We will theme some – such as our Indian night so watch this space for some really exciting menus!
Thursday nights will be become a ‘thing’ again in February as we bring back our weekly specials. We are working on a calendar of some past favourites much as Moules Frites but also some new fabulous French classic dishes. Make sure you look out for our regular emails as they are always announced first there!
February sees the first of our special events with Valentine’s Day Dinner and Opera. This very special event has ben running for over 10 years now and if you haven’t tried it yet, you must! It really is the perfect celebration of love – fine food, fine wine, the casual atmosphere of our bistros and the incredible voices of some of Sydney’s finest soprano singers.
Other special events that are regular on our calendar now are our Truffle night in August, Mothers Day and Fathers Day (of course), Melbourne Cup and our Christmas Eve Dinner.
Over the cooler months we will travel virtually again to some previously unexplored regions of France with a new series of French Wine Dinners. We are planning some amazing nights showcasing the food and wines of Provence, Champagne, Languedoc and Corsica. You won’t want to miss any!
As you know, Bitton always has a lot going on behind the scenes too and 2022 will see a lot of activity for our cafes, products and consulting businesses. We are hoping to open a 4th Bitton in the Autumn months, but you will have to wait to hear more on that later. Our product range will continue to be seen in more Woolworths stores as we roll out into other states. We have been so excited by the growth in this area of our business – it means that more people can get their hands on our products and our name in their pantries! We have to also mention our NSW distributors, Cartel and Co who continue to work hard with our valued smaller stockists – we are so grateful for their ongoing support.
Bitton Consultancy will also see the opening of some new opportunities with a few new and exciting recipe development contracts and also some opportunities for others to gain from our experience in this industry. If you have a food business or dream of starting one, talk to us and watch this space for more on how we can help you achieve this.
We are also delighted to have signed on for another 2 years with Magimix Australia as their ambassador. This will see us promote their quality products through recipe development, social media, special events and even some exciting TV appearances. As with everything, we will share it all with you as it happens!
Although we are excited about the year ahead we are still facing challenges with the unpredictability of Covid and the national staff shortage that is being felt, particularly in our industry. We have a lot of lost time to make up for but we are determined to keep moving forward. Looking back for just one moment. Our thanks again for your support and patience as Bitton has navigated our toughest year since we opened our doors in 2000. We are so grateful for our customers, family, suppliers and staff, many of whom have gone above and beyond to keep the wheels of our business turning.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful Summer holiday. We will be open through the holidays however we are planning to give our staff a much needed break so we will have some slightly reduced hours. Make sure you check before you book.
